BEST Kids™ Receives Freddie Mac Grant for Peer Group Program

BEST Kids, Inc. has been awarded a $25,000 grant from the Freddie Mac Foundation for the further development of a peer group curriculum to help at-risk youth in the District of Columbia’s Child Welfare System. All involved parties view this award as the start of a mutually supportive relationship. The Freddie Mac Foundation is known in the Washington, D.C. area for its strong support of high quality mentoring programs.

LaMar Henderson, MSW, LiCSW Joins BEST Kids
LaMar HendersonBEST Kids, Inc. announces the appointment of LaMar Henderson, MSW, LiCSW, as the organization’s first Director of Mentoring Services. Best Kids, Inc. was the first organization to place long-term volunteer mentors with foster care children under a Volunteer Mentoring Partnership Agreement with Child & Family Services Agency of the District of Columbia. Henderson, who assumed his duties on January 2, will support BEST Kids’ mentors and oversee partnerships with local caregivers and social workers.
