Lyle has been a BEST Kids  mentor since 2007 and a supporter of the organization since its inception. During this time, Lyle has mentored two different youth and become a regular fixture at our monthly peer group meetings.

Lyle brings remarkable life experiences and insight to his mentoring: Having attended more than 20 different schools before earning his high school diploma and grown up in circumstances similar to those of BEST Kids youth, he can truly say that he understands and empathizes with some of the needs of his mentee. “There is nothing theoretical about what I’m saying because I’ve been there and I’ve seen it,” he explains. Given the similar circumstances, Lyle’s success story provides a helpful reminder to our mentees that they also can reach their goals.
