   Giving Tuesday

Our Mission

BEST Kids connects with youth in foster care to build healthy and successful futures through long-lasting mentoring relationships.

BEST Kids is guided by the belief that all children are talented. Through one-one-one volunteer mentoring, extensive training, staff support and experiential learning-based Peer Groups, we encourage our youth to discover and develop their unique skills and abilities. Beginning with children as young as six and continuing, as needed, into adulthood, BEST Kids works to enable youth to develop a positive sense of self, to acquire teamwork and group social skills, and to become productive members of society.

Our Stories

Picture
Dominique & Michael
Dominique and Michael were matched in 2021, and they hit the ground running! From candid phone calls and completing FASFA form together, to kayaking and trying new foods -- this duo has created countless memories!

Michael is now enrolled at Allegany College and very excited for the opportunities ahead. Dominique and Michael are great examples of the wonderful experiences that mentors and mentees can share when they are fully invested in the mentoring relationship

Picture
Marie & Jacqueline
Marie and Jacqueline have been matched for six years and four months, and together they have accomplished great things, including helping Jacqueline achieve her dream of getting into college! This is Jacqueline’s last year in foster care, and they are cherishing every moment of the time they spend together.

Through their concerted efforts, FASFA agreed to help pay for school and purchase books for her first semester!

Our Goals

This year's Giving Tuesday theme is "Every Gift Counts Because Every Youth Matters".

Our goal is to raise $7500 in donations to provide 83 youth in foster care with the opportunity to build healthy and successful futures! Please donate and help us provide youth with this robust opportunity.
