Why Mentoring Matters

Mentoring provides young people with the vital support of at least one consistent, caring, and trustworthy adult who helps them navigate daily challenges, make positive choices, feel valued, and know there’s always someone cheering them on.

At BEST Kids, we are committed to making every mentoring connection meaningful through:
  • Individualized Attention: Tailoring support to meet each mentee’s unique needs and strengths.
  • Long-Lasting Relationships: Building enduring bonds that foster trust, growth, and resilience.
  • Holistic Approach: Addressing the whole child—emotionally, socially, and academically—to empower their future.

Understanding Foster Care

"In foster care, you grow up not knowing that you can really be somebody. When I was in foster care, it didn't seem like I had any choices or any future. All kids deserve families. They need a family, to have someone like a father or mother- they need a family so they can believe in themselves and grow up to be somebody. This is a big deal people don't realize. I wish everyone could understand." - Former BEST Kids foster youth

Our Approach

At BEST Kids, we empower youth to thrive and realize their full potential. Our programs focus on four key areas to help young people discover who they are, build confidence, and believe in themselves:
  • Mastery of Skills
  • Youth Participation
  • Building Social Skills
  • Having Fun!
