Dear BEST Kids family,

As you may have seen in last month's newsletter, I've recently joined the BEST Kids team as the new Executive Director. I wanted to take this chance to introduce myself and to allow each of you - our wonderful supporters - to get to know me a bit better.

As someone deeply passionate about mentoring, I am thrilled to join the BEST Kids team and be apart of the mission to serve youth in DC area foster care. As I see it, BEST Kids is DC's best kept secret and I am excited to contribute to such an amazing organization. For most of my own life I have been a mentor or mentee in some capacity and have seen the power of mentoring proven time and time again. Mentoring is truly a powerful way to help people succeed and I am happy to be apart of work dedicated to this cause.

For the past two decades I have worked to grow and develop programs focused on leadership development, skill building, and youth mentoring. I look forward to bringing my passion for creating organization and improving processes to the BEST Kids team.

As our internal team takes steps to reinforce and strengthen our foundations and think about setting goals for the future, I look forward to working with each of you. The support and assistance of our donors, partners, and volunteers has helped BEST Kids become the organization we see today. And with your continued help, I believe we can thrive and grow in the years to come.

We will be sharing updates on this next journey and everything happening with BEST Kids in this newsletter. Thank you for reading!
Sincerely,

Dr. Stephanie
